How to Pack a Linen Set for Travel — The PP Guide

How to pack a PP linen set for travel — rolling method, hotel room refresh, the two-set rotation for a week away.

The PP linen set — men's or women's — is among the most travel-friendly pieces in the collection. Certified Belgian linen's natural properties make it well-suited to travel packing in ways that most fabrics are not: it creases in a way that is part of its character rather than a flaw, it refreshes quickly, and it is light enough that two or three sets cover a week of resort travel without bulk.

The linen crease and travel. Linen creases when packed — this is not a problem to solve but a property to understand. The natural crease of certified Belgian linen reads as part of the fabric's character in the resort context; a linen shirt or set that shows travel creases is not damaged or unwearable. In the warmer climates where PP is most at home, the combination of warmth and a brief hang will release most packing creases within an hour or two of unpacking.

“Two PP linen sets cover a five to seven night resort trip with a daily wearing and overnight drying rotation. Pack light; wash as you go. Belgian linen can dry surprisingly quickly in warm resort conditions.”

The rolling method. For travel packing, roll the linen shirt and shorts rather than folding — rolling creates fewer sharp crease lines than folding and allows the fabric to breathe slightly within the packed case. Lay the shirt flat, roll firmly from collar to hem; roll the shorts similarly. Pair the two pieces of the set together in the same roll to keep them together and maintain the colour relationship.

The hotel room refresh. On arrival, hang both pieces in the bathroom during a shower — the steam from the shower refreshes linen quickly and releases most packing creases without ironing. Alternatively, hang in a well-ventilated area for an hour. For a crisper finish, iron the linen while slightly damp on a medium-high linen setting.

The two-set rotation. For a five to seven night trip, two PP linen sets — or one set plus separate PP shirts and shorts — covers the full trip with a daily wearing and overnight drying rotation. Belgian linen can dry surprisingly quickly in warm resort conditions, making the rotation practical.
