Six Weeks in the Hands of a Master
Six Weeks in the Hands of a Master
On the PP shoe, the Italian workshop, and what it means to wait for something made entirely for you.
Six weeks is the time required to make a shoe properly. It is also the minimum.
The PP shoe is made to order in Italy — by hand, by the same workshop, using the same process for every pair. Velvet exterior. Italian leather interior. A sole that is stitched, not glued. The construction takes the time it requires. No part is abbreviated.
Each pair passes through multiple sets of hands. — the pattern cutter, the closer, the laster, the finisher. Each person works on one part of one shoe with the full attention that part requires. The result is not consistency in the way machines produce it. It is consistent in the way that craft is — with the particular steadiness that comes from a practised hand and a known material.
"You place the order, and then you wait. When it arrives, you understand why."
— Pieter Petros, founderThe velvet is specific. Aubergine, midnight, the deeper tones that carry presence without announcement. The Italian leather lining sits against the foot with a particular softness — the kind that comes from the material itself rather than from any treatment applied to it. A shoe made this way requires little breaking in. It arrives already knowing what it is.
Personalisation is part of the order. The PP monogram or your own initials, embroidered into the lining — a detail visible only to the person wearing it. A detail that defines the difference between ownership and belonging.
The shoe collection follows the same principle — natural materials, made by hand, with no part of the process rushed. The leather comes from Italian workshops. The logic is the same: origin matters, craft matters, and the time required to do something properly is part of what you are receiving when you place the order.
For those interested in something further still, the Private Atelier accepts fully bespoke commissions — shoes designed to a single specification, from materials chosen for a single purpose, with no second pair produced.
Six weeks. One pair. Made for you.
