Every PP linen colourway has a specific geography and a specific occasion that makes it correct. This piece tells the story behind each colourway — where it belongs, when it works, and what it is connected to.

Oyster. The oyster shells of the North Sea coast — the same waters where the Belgian flax grows in the coastal plain of Flanders. Oyster is the most quietly composed colourway in the PP range: the colour of the sea floor at low tide, the colour of white-turned-gold in candlelight. It belongs at every formally observed hotel dinner occasion, at every milestone event, and in the Amelia with walnut buttons that carries every occasion a women's wardrobe requires.

Coral Orange. The ochre facades of the Sienese contrade, the terracotta of the Neapolitan historic centre, the painted harbour buildings of Vernazza, the golden hour light on the Marrakech roofscape. Coral Orange is the PP Mediterranean colourway — specifically photogenic in warm late-afternoon light, specifically vivid against whitewashed walls.

Hibiscus. The hibiscus flower of the Indian Ocean — the Maldivian lagoon at the hour before sunset, the Mauritian coast, the Bali villa garden. Hibiscus is the PP tropical colourway. It belongs at the pool villa dinner, at the Indian Ocean resort occasion, at the most celebratory moment of the warm-weather calendar.

Violet. The lavender fields of the Valensole plateau, the jacaranda-lined streets of Pretoria, the wisteria tunnel of the Giardino Bardini in April. Violet is the PP composed vivid — a non-primary colourway that reads as considered rather than expressive. It belongs at the gallery opening, at the art fair dinner, at the hotel restaurant occasion where a vivid colourway is the intention but restraint is also the instruction.
