Mallorca's social geography produces a wider range of occasions than most Mediterranean islands. The beach club circuit around Palma and the southwest coast has the observed visual standard of the international luxury scene. The rural interior — the finca hotels, the mountain villages, the almond and olive groves — has an entirely different and more settled register. The northeast coast from Alcúdia to Cala Ratjada has its own quieter luxury. The linen wardrobe that carries all of these is one built on two or three PP pieces in complementary colourways.

The summer heat in Mallorca — 28 to 35 degrees July and August — makes Belgian linen the practical as well as the aesthetic choice.
