Spetses is the Greek island where PIETER PETROS began — where founder Pieter Petros spent seventeen summers, conceived the vision for the brand, and found in the island's particular combination of beauty, simplicity, and the absence of cars a model for what a life lived in harmony with nature could look like. The island is also one of the most charming in the Saronic Gulf: the horse-drawn carriages that serve as taxis, the neo-classical mansions of the Dapia harbour, the pine forests that reach to the water's edge.

The island without cars. Spetses prohibits private cars — the island is navigated by horse-drawn carriage, by bicycle, by water taxi, and on foot. This deliberate choice to preserve the island's character creates a specific atmosphere: quieter, slower, more connected to the natural environment than almost any other inhabited Greek island. For the Dapia harbour and the old town. The harbour promenade, the neo-classical mansions, the Bouboulina Museum, the Poseidonion Grand Hotel — Spetses' most famous building, a grand Belle Époque hotel that has hosted royalty and been restored to its original splendour.
