Trinidad and Tobago are two very different Caribbean islands sharing a single nation — Trinidad is the industrial, cosmopolitan, and culturally vibrant southern island, home to the world's greatest Carnival and the steel pan tradition; Tobago is the smaller, more naturally unspoiled island to the northeast, with the rainforest of the Main Ridge Forest Reserve (one of the oldest protected forests in the Caribbean region), the beaches of Pigeon Point and the Buccoo Reef, and a quieter luxury resort culture.
