The PP Tennis Collection — Natural Fabric for the Court

On the particular demands of court clothing — and how the PP Tennis Collection meets them through Belgian linen and hemp.

The PP Tennis Collection began with a simple observation: the court is one of the few places where the clothing is required to perform at two registers simultaneously. During play it needs to move freely, breathe continuously, and stay composed under the particular combination of heat and exertion that an afternoon on the court produces. After play — on the terrace, at lunch, into the evening — it needs to hold the same standard without the context of sport to support it.

Most tennis clothing solves the performance side and abandons the second requirement entirely. PP solves both — through the fabric.

Belgian linen — certified by origin, cut and finished by hand at the Dubai atelier — is the foundation of the Tennis Collection. The hollow flax fibre breathes in direct sun in a way that is felt from the first point. Heat moves away from the skin. The body stays regulated. The shirt does not cling or wilt as the afternoon progresses. The full case for Belgian linen in heat is made elsewhere in the journal.

“The court deserves the same standard as every other setting PP occupies.”

— Pieter Petros, founder

The PP Tennis Shirt exists in Oyster and White — both in 100% Belgian linen, short-sleeve silhouette, regular collar, seashell buttons, tonal PP monogram embroidered at the chest. The Tennis Shorts span a wider colourway range: White, Oyster, Oatmeal, Vanille, Sapphire Blue, and Roosewood Pink.

The Roosewood Pink shorts deserve a specific note. This colourway is crafted from 100% hemp — making it the first hemp garment in the PP collection. Hemp was chosen for this colourway deliberately. It is a natural fibre with a distinct character from Belgian linen — slightly more textured, with a warmth in the hand that suits the Roosewood Pink tone particularly well. Hemp is fully biodegradable and sits entirely within PP’s natural materials philosophy. It is not a compromise. It is the right material for this specific piece.

The Natural Tennis Sets — shirt and shorts in the same cloth — resolve the court-to-terrace question entirely. Two pieces cut from the same certified Belgian linen, moving together as one. Oatmeal, Oyster, Vanille, White, and Pink (shirt in Belgian linen, shorts in hemp). The set is the complete answer to what the court and the hours after it require.

Everything in the Tennis Collection is natural. Everything is made by hand.

The court deserves the same standard as every other setting PP occupies.
