The PP Natural Sauna Hat — The Complete Guide
PP natural sauna hat complete guide — construction, natural wool, nine colourways, certificate of origin.
The PP natural sauna hat is a 100% natural wool felt hat — made from natural wool, in the traditional Scandinavian saunamyssy construction, available in nine natural colourways, with a certificate of origin confirming its natural material credentials. It is the only PP product beyond the linen collection that carries a certificate; its design, its material, and its philosophy are aligned with the PP natural fabric approach throughout.
The construction. 100% natural wool felt — the wool is harvested, processed, and felted without synthetic additives. The felt construction is dense enough to provide effective thermal insulation from the ambient air heat of the sauna (typically 80–100 degrees in a traditional Finnish dry sauna), flexible enough to reshape after compression or moisture absorption, and porous enough to allow some air circulation at the scalp. The loop handle at the crown allows the hat to be hung for drying between sessions.
“The PP natural sauna hat ships with a certificate of origin confirming the natural wool material — the same documentation standard as the PP Belgian linen garments. Nine colourways: Amber, Ivory, Mocha, Navy, Olive, Purple, Rose, Sand, Wine.”
— Pieter Petros, founderWhy natural wool specifically. Natural wool has a specific property that makes it the correct material for the sauna environment: it maintains its insulating character even when damp. Synthetic felt, cotton felt, and mixed fibre alternatives do not have the same moisture-tolerant insulating performance. In the steam room — where the hat absorbs significant moisture during the session — the difference between natural wool and synthetic alternatives is felt as a meaningful comfort difference.
The nine colourways. Amber, Ivory, Mocha, Navy, Olive, Purple, Rose, Sand, Wine. Ivory and Sand are the most universally appropriate — the lightest tones that work for any buyer and any sauna context. Amber and Mocha are the most naturalistic — the warm earth tones that connect to the wooden interior of a traditional sauna. Navy and Olive are the most composed. Rose and Purple are the most individually expressive. Wine is the deepest and most luxurious tone.
The certificate of origin. The PP natural sauna hat ships with a certificate of origin confirming the natural wool material — the same documentation standard as the PP Belgian linen garments.
