In direct sun with a breeze, sometimes faster. This is the relevant drying time for the Gulf, Mediterranean, and tropical destinations where PP linen is most frequently worn and washed.

In a warm indoor environment — 22 to 25 degrees, typical air-conditioned interior. A PP linen shirt hung on a hanger indoors in these conditions is typically dry within three to four hours. Overnight drying is a reliable approach — wash in the evening, hang indoors, wear the following morning.

In cooler European conditions — 15 to 20 degrees, moderate humidity. Drying time extends to four to six hours outdoors or overnight indoors. Still practical for the travel wash-and-wear approach.

The hand wash travel method. A PP linen shirt washed by hand in a hotel basin with a small amount of gentle soap, rinsed thoroughly, and hung in the bathroom or on a balcony will be dry and ready to wear the following morning in any warm-climate destination. This is the practical basis for travelling with two linen shirts and washing one each evening.

The tumble dryer time. On a low heat setting, a linen shirt is typically dry in twenty to thirty minutes. Remove while still slightly damp to prevent over-drying and stiffness.
